We Farm - Character Development

        Hello All!

Here's a quick look at our character development process. Please feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the post. Flame on!

One of the things that we knew that we wanted to do from the onset was to give We Farm a distinct visual look. The concept department took the lead and came up with a stylized, fun, and unique look for everything from buildings to characters. In particular, the animals got a lot of attention, since they were a focal point of what you do in the game.

Continued after the jump...
Continue reading "We Farm - Character Development"

We aren't quite ready to roll out info on all our projects, but we've got a lot of irons in the proverbial fire. So many, in fact, that we're hiring all over the place. Programmers, Artists, Producers, etc. Take a look at our job page.
Bonfire Racing 2010

On Saturday, Bonfire Studios raced in the Eighteenth Annual Preston Center Rotary Grand Prix benefiting inner-city families of West Dallas. The competition was fierce, but Bonfire brought home the trophy for the second straight year! The runner-up team won a tour of Bonfire Studios, lunch with us, and some really cool Bonfire shirts. Everyone had a great time, and it was certainly for a good cause. For more information, check out www.prestoncenterrotary.com.

We have uploaded a few photos from the event on our facebook page.

What I've Learned at Bonfire, Year One

This evening, Bonfire Studios will have a small party celebrating the end of our first year as a company and the beginning of our second. In honor of that sort-of startling milestone, I wanted to take a minute to look back at the past twelve months and maybe share a couple of things I’ve picked up along the way.

1. LIFT WITH YOUR LEGS

Despite our collective experience and our collection of stuff, all of us here at Bonfire are employed by what is still for all intents and purposes a startup company. That means everyone pitches in and everyone wears a lot of hats. I’ve personally had the chance to be a video editor, a studio tech, a proof-reader of job listings, a voice actor, and part of our first holiday party’s (hopefully intentional) entertainment in addition to doing all the composing and sound design tasks that are actually a part of my job description. I think that’s a pretty typical experience here: you do what needs to be done. And, back in the spring of 2009, what needed to be done was a really big move.

Continue reading "What I've Learned at Bonfire, Year One"

Welcome to our new website!

The old girl's needed to be sexed up for a while. Scott and crew have done a kick-ass job with it, IMO. I hope everyone likes the new look.

The site still has a few work-in-progress elements, but we'll get there. Maybe we'll even be talking about some of the stuff we're working on soon...
